Reasons to be jolly was set up by myself, Fiona Jolly. I wanted to make luxury children's furniture that was British made, made by myself and local crafts men. using sustainable wood. I make hand made furniture that is built to last and to the highest quality. We use Red Grandis wood, which is a sustainable, quick growing hard wood. It can live in or out side and is perfect for furniture. The paint we use is made in England and hand mixed. Every piece is hand painted. The furniture is designed to fit in to the most beautiful homes around the world and to last for generations to enjoy.
The colours, which are designed in-house, are in soft hews of pastels, which are easy to live with. The paint is non toxic, water base gloss which is strong and easily cleanable.
Our cushions are handmade locally. Each is hand-stuffed with duck down or duck feather to the exact softness for a child to snuggle in to comfortably. To some cushions I have added a thick velvet edge for little fingers to rub and be comforted. Reasons to be Jolly cushions are either giant and fun or small and snuggly. Ideal to be thrown on a bed or chair. Fun brightly coloured pom poms or ric rac run around the edges of some cushions, which children love. My animal poufs are popular with adults as well as children. They look great in bedroom but also are the perfect height for a footstool and have a convenient handle for little ones to use. Everything is made with the fines fabrics and finished by being stored in a custom-made dust bag.
My ethos is to make fun useful things for the whole family. Which will be pretty to live with and useful even when the children have grown up. My London table doubles perfectly as a coffee table. My Ogbury stools are sturdy and strong enough to hold any weight and work perfectly as a step up.
I am constantly working on new fun ideas for children and their homes. I hope you all love the products from Reasons to be Jolly as much as I do.
Please if you have a moment read my blog as I am always updating it.
